The thoughts and work of Sam Witt

Camp NaNoWriMo – Go Big – The End

#GO THE END

It’s that time friends and neighbors. Was I able to write, have edited, and acquire covers for two complete novellas in just 31 days?

Let’s see.

You’ve probably noticed that updates from this website got a little sparse over the last two weeks of July. It wasn’t for lack of my trying, but there are a lot of reasons for the lack of new updates.

First, in the first two weeks all the work was on my side. It was easy to update you with new word counts, and fill you in on the creative process.

But in the last half month, all of the work was happening outside of my happy little home. I had drafts out to my editor and an art order out to my cover artist. While they were hard at work, there really wasn’t much for me to report on their process. I hope to have some updates from them later on in August, and they can tell you how this whole mad escapade went down from there and. I will say that they both did fantastic work, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

But, the important question is: did we hit our deadline?

Hell. Yes.

I’ll be posting more updates as we go, the long and short of it is that I have about 60,000 words broken up over two novellas in the new post-apocalyptic series. I don’t have a definite publication date on the ship, but it’ll be sometime this fall.

Coming up next: lessons learned and best practices for fast drafting and finishing what you started.

The ground, things are just getting started.
